Bridge mode problem with Broadband 100

I have the Broadband 100 service.

I have tried both non-bridge mode and bridge mode.

In the non-bridge mode, I find the CISCO modem/router performs poorly as a wireless router so I would rather use my own router.  However, the modem does get my full 100 mbps down and 5 mbps up in this mode.

In bridge mode, I get much better wireless coverage with my router however I am only getting 20 mbps down.  Yes my wireless router is near brand new and does run gigabit ethernet.

So I can either get 1/5th of the speed I am paying for and better wireless coverage or full speed with crap wireless coverage.

I would rather go bridge mode but I would like to know why the speed drops from 100 mbps to 20 mbps down when I am using my own router.

Can anyone confirm that they have Broadband 100, have their modem in bridge mode, using their own wireless router, and are getting the advertised 100 mbps down speed?  If so, can you please post what router you are using?

I have tried two different routers with the same results.  I'm leaning towards the modem from Shaw having issues of some sort.
