i have no dial tone on any of my phones it just says check tel lines.
I'm sorry you're experiencing this interruption to your phone service at the moment. Can you check the lights on your phone terminal and let me know what lights you're seeing there?
i get a flashing green light on the tel 1 light of the modem
Can you please try unplugging the power cable, as well as removing the battery from this? Wait 5-10 seconds with it unplugged and reconnect. Then wait 2-3 minutes, and then test for a dial tone again. For a visual of removing the battery please see:

battery light is also flashing orange at the same time.
i tried that and it made no difference. both lights still flashing.

There is a very good chance that this last step will last step will give you a dial tone back right away. If this last step does not work I'll contact you directly to investigate this further.

Great, glad that worked. If you reconnect the line again you may experience the same issue. This would point to a problem with the wiring somewhere between your home phones and the phone terminal. i keep getting notification failure.
I think you may be trying to reply to an email notification, that would result in a delivery failure.
