This bit of information seems to be remiss from all your instructional data. I think I've figured it out but I need to confirm. I'd appreciate any feedback. thanks much.

Which PVR are you using?
Couple things you can try usually a good bet is to go to the channel that is recording and press the "Stop" button on your Shaw remote.
The other option would be to go to your recordings list and stop the recording from there.
Let us know which model of PVR you have if that doesn't work.
Hi wildwebjoe. Did [shaw]ali's two suggestions work for you? If not, let us know which PVR you have as the old guide, new guide and Gateway can operate a bit differently.
It is the newest Arris PVR, with portals. Had that installled about a month or so ago, so it has to be the latest....just saying.
In your PVR list, find the program that is recording, Info, and then Stop Recording, should stop it
Nope. doesn't even give me that option when I go to recording option for that program. When I click that recording options on, the program I don't want to record is not listed at all, The other that are programed are, but not this particular one, that's what is confusing about it. Strange, and have tried all options to stop it, and even when I go to play and then fast forward it, there is nothing there, the screen freezes. Now remember this was a free program that was offered , and is not longer there. Would that have anything to do with it?..just a question. What I may have to do is re-set the pvr all together.?????
I have to same problem , I set my pvr Arris to record a channel that was offered for free for a short time. By mistake I had set this for a series recording. Now when I go to remove it, I have no option . The channel is Oasis. When I bring up my recordings with the romote, there is no option there to stop or discontinue recording series...any suggestions? or do I have to re-set my box?
I have replied to your qustion here Programed series donhere.
Ok, finally got it. I went to the channel, and of course I hadn't subscribed to it, cause it was on for free, but I went to stop recording, and it worked. So no more Wildest Islands....Thanks for your trouble.
