Android email Outgoing Authenticating Fail for Shaw email only

this was reported by elderone1 in March 2013.  in that post elderone1 reported that "To be able to Send from such an Android device, Shaw must set a particular code in their Outgoing mail servers for each email address that allows "remote send". This change can only be done by Shaw."

 

I had a live chat with shaw today and they did the config on their end but my SS Galaxy S4 would not authenticate to the SMTP server.  After closing the chat i decided to re-boot my phone and the outgoing email is now working.
