I got home today to find that two episodes of dragons: riders of berk have been locked by ratings. As normal with this bug, both episodes were not locked yesterday.
Thanks for reporting this one. I've encountered it a few times on my 3510 as well. Sometimes resetting the box will resolve it, so I'd recommend giving that a try if you haven't yet this time around. Beyond that, you can also try creating a PIN for ratings locks and using that to unlock it. I understand this is a bug that you've encountered before, but if you want to give these things a try and report back with the results that'd be great.
I find it humerous that this occurred on a kids cartoon.
Reseting the box did fix it, but that is not the point. The point is that fist occurred last winter, and it still is not fixed.
Great, I'm glad you were able to fix it. I'm on the same page as you with regard to this being an ongoing issue, wasn't trying to overlook that. The frequency of this happening is quite a bit less than it was at launch, and it's something we're still aware of as a known bug, so it will continue to be addressed. Thanks again for letting us know.
Actually Colin, I have had this bug on 5 shows in the last three weeks, so the frequency is actually increasing.
Ah, I stand corrected then. There was a period some time ago when this was happening more often for a larger number of users. It seems to have generally subsided since then, but apparently not in all cases.
Have any of the problematic recordings shared anything in common like being the same show or on the same channel? If there's a pattern here then we might be able to look into that specifically.
Today was two episodes of dragons: riders of berk. Last time was three episodes of the Olympics. Nothing in common, and both shows thare should not have that high of a rating, if any.
Okay, thanks. I've double checked here just to confirm that this is still a known issue and one we are tracking - and it is. I don't have much more to share besides that at the moment, but I am going to email another team here to see if we can get any further info or updates. I'll report back if there is anything to share.
I Had the locked rating issue also this past week after not having it for several months.
Hi ilvy34, sorry if this issue came back for you. As shaw-colin mentioned, this is a known issue that our programming team is looking at. Is it just particular shows that are locked for you or entire channels? If a reset of your HD box is needed, let us know and we can private message you.
I've spoken to our programming team and just wanted to follow up with you here. I wasn't able to get any other details in this case, but was assured that this issue is on our list and is continuing to be looked at. It should be resolved in future software updates.
