I just configured my iphone for shaw email. The account is present and the inbox is full but the first message I tried to send said the sender address was rejected by the server. Why?
Hey there norinej
Can you let me know how you've configured your iPhone? Did you use the exchange service or POP/SMTP? You'll see the differences (and instructions for both) here.
If you're using POP/SMTP, the problem could be that Enabling Remote Access in Webmail is not enabled. Have a look at that document if that's the case. You'll also want to ensure that you're able to sign into Webmail at http://webmail.shaw.ca.
Let us know if you're still having any trouble.
I used the POP/ thingy. I think my password mught mot be adequate. So I am trying to change that but the care center that I am logging into is not allowing me to do so....it is requiring me to update browser. What the hell!!!!! Is it too early for a bottle of vodka. Can I not just change the password without updating the browser?? I would jump in the river now if it weren't frozen solid!
What browser are you using here? (please provide browser name and version if possible)
If you are using Internet Explorer and encountering this, please try adjusting the Compatibility View Settings, as shown here.
Ok so I was finally able to change my password so I thought that would fix the problem, but alas it has not! So I have a secure password, I have received emails on my phone so why can I not send emails? I used POP?SMTP and remote access is enabled. And I have now consumed a half a bottle of vodka and nothing is helping!!!!!!
Can you try removing your Shaw POP account settings and configure again using the Exchange Server settings, shown in Setup Email on an iPhone/iPad (iOS7) and let me know if you are able to send this way?
ok geez, I will try but I am going to need more vodka! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Oh my GOD! It worked! I guess I don't need to jump n the river or finish that vodka after all. Oh what the hell, may as well finish the vodka! Thank you!
Haha, glad to help norinej. And remember, don't drink and email
LOL, that is great advice! Have a great day!
