The live sound is fine,but sound cuts out frequently on pvr recordings. It is very annoying. Any suggestions?

Which PVR do you have?
Try rebooting the PVR? - Unplug the power for 30 seconds and plug back in
Otherwise, I'd maybe have Shaw reboot it from their side, or try formatting the drive
Try using the instructions here Resetting Your Digital Box to reset your digital box and check your PVR recordings. If that doesn't work, let us know what digital box model you have and if you have an expander attached to it.
