Is there a way to record multiple timeslots of a series on our Gateway system? When I have tried that, I have received a message saying a series recording for "xxx" already exists
You can indeed record multiple timeslots of a series on the Gateway. From the program information, choose "Record Series". You then hit the right arrow button and "Timeslots" will become an option. Go down to that and hit OK. There you have the the option to record all or choose each specific timeslot you wish to record. We do have full manual online here as well which may be of some assistance to you. We hope this helps!
Hi again Noah,
I tried to select two different time slots but as soon as I select a new time slot, the previous time slot turns off. It leaves me with only two options. One specific time slot or all the timeslots. I also tried to do a second series recording with a different timeslot but I get a message saying that a series recording with that name already exists.
Good morning Ron
Unfortunately the Gateway does not have the option to chose specific episodes and the choices are either all timeslots or one. Sorry about the confusion on this matter.
Please forgive me as I know it's none of my business, but I am curious why you would want to do this in the first place if you wouldn't mind?
My wife and I like to watch M*A*S*H reruns and they are telecast on History Channel multiple times a day. We were only interested in recording two episodes a day which caused my original question. I have found a work-around though. I have selected a specific time slot but set it to record for an extra 30 minutes in order to capture a second episode. This doesn't allow for the second episode to be identified but we know it's there.
Awesome work around ronco405, sorry I didn't think of that
Ah, I see. Thanks.
Glad you discovered a workaround, though not optimal, it works.
CAn you tell us what timeslots you are trying to record. If they are constant, you should be able to do this with one series recording, set your timeslots and choose accept:repeats.
why are you trying to set up two series recordings on the same channel with the same name. Thats where the conflict starts..
i would like to understand exactly what you are trying to achieve to provide you an optimal solution.
let us know
I was trying to record M*A*S*H on History Channel 243 at 9:00am and the next one is at 9:30am
and this repeats everyday?
Yes. On weekdays only though
mark_vse - Don't see an option to specify more than one timeslot per series recording, it seems ronco405 has found the best workaround so far. As he mention it is missing the title information but it does record it successfully. Perhaps a feature request to Arris, could be the option to specify multiple timeslots per series recordings - a minimum of two?
Yes that is true. Thought multiple timeslots could be chosen, i guess not in this firmware version.
we can look into that as a feature request.
