I've got a Samsung 32EH5300 smart (lol) tv. Can I upgrade it's wireless g to n via a usb internet adapter? I know I have to upgrade the ISP router. The
Cisco 3825 is very poor for bandwidth.
I'm pretty sure you can't, if it has built-in WiFi, but Wireless G should be fast enough for the TV's functions
Otherwise, look at getting a wired ethernet connection for it.
The DPC3825 is usually acceptable for bandwidth, so there may be something else going on
Thanks. I appreciate the answer; and so fast. Even wired there are problems. I've moved the router so there are fewer interference problemos. Thanks to Shaw for help on that. I am going to upgrade the router, and use a wired connection. My present router doesn't support wireless VPN, which is a security protocol. First I have to decide just how much I use the TV via the net. I've got no idea whether Netflix is something I'd like. I can't find info on content, just price. For sure wireless would not be enough. I'd rather commit HariKari than stream an entire movie wirelessly.
If you are already using a separate router, the DPC3825 makes an excellent modem (in bridge mode)...
I don't understand what you mean by doesn't support wireless VPN though
MY VPN vendor dissed the idea of bridging. I've already had a mirade of radio interference problems, which were handled by a very nice Shaw CSR. Currently I use the modem via hard wire.
It seems the encryption level bandwidth capabilities of the 3825 are in the poor category. Don't worry, I'm as stunned as anyone that Cisco would put their name on this, (if it's truely right.) Anyway, I'm done with this. Thnx. Dale/Burnaby
You got the VPN to work using the DPC3825 client??
That was further than I got, mind you that was a previous firmware version, I was thinking the functionality was just broken
