I can delete a show on my PVR, any other show will but this one will not, I've tried everything
Can you give details on what you have tried?
My first suggestion (and usual fix) is to unplug the PVR for 30 seconds, plug back in, give it a couple minutes to boot back up, then try and delete again.
Which PVR model?
Do you currently subscribe to the channel it was recorded on?
II've tried deleting it, three times, when it go to view the show it's a blank screen and not picture. My PVR is the newest model were the channel is the original number on had not the 200#s.
yes the show on discovery channel is gold rush.
Hi there esradu
Thanks for the additional details there. As Kevin mentioned, the usual solution for this is to reset your PVR by unplugging for a minute, then plugging it back on. Once it's rebooted, you should be able to delete the problematic recording. Can you please give this a try, or confirm that you've already done so?
it worked, now it deleted, thanks
SAME PROBLEM HERE on yup, you guessed it, the DCX3510!! I can't delete 2 programs, both series recordings, one was another of those infamous duplicate recordings. Tried deleting both several times - still there. Tried unplugging, rebooting and deleting again several times - neither one will go away. I am just so - sick - and - tired of having to deal with these recurring issues! SHAW - GET YOUR S*#T TOGETHER!!!
No doubt a frustration, especially if you've been unable to delete it after resetting your PVR. I'd like to collect your information to send this to our engineering teams and we can try to reset your cable box from here if you'd like, which may allow you to delete these recordings. Please check your Community Inbox for my message.
Hi: Thanks I will try that also!
Why did Shaw discontinue selling the 1 tb expander? Mine is very old and freezes all the time
Will this one work? Western Digital My Book AV DVR Expander 1 TB USB 2.0/eSATA External Hard Drive WDBABT0010HBK-NESN
Hi northvancouver. Unfortunately that model won't be compatible with our hardware. It's USB and our hardware require an eSata connection.
There are many external hard drives that have both eSata and USB but we recommend only one that's eSata only.
More information on Expanders can be found at Shaw PVR Expander Guide.
It should work... Shaw recommends ones with eSATA only because some of the USB interfaces aren't quite up to a quality standard and cause interference.
But that drive should work
Unfortunately the USB port on our PVRs and Gateway is not enabled for Expanders. At this time, eSata is the only option. However, you are able to use the USB port to recharge devices such as phones and tablets.
Hi: Please look here as this is an esata drive with external ac power adapter and it is supposed to work aas a dvr expander
