Bridged vs access point?

Hi everyone,  I've recently set up a new wireless router with the intent to bridge it at first but ended up as an access point. I'm happy with the speeds compared to my old setup (SMC by itself) but I'm wondering if it's worth bridging or keeping it this way.

My new Shaw modem is the latest Cisco wireless and I still have that connection available albeit slower than the Asus RT - AC68U. Would I get even faster speeds by bridging or not? I'm on  BB50 btw.
