When I get pictures sent with emails from my contacts they do not show. How do I fix this I am using Windows 8 with shaw as my email.
How do you create folders in my email account using windows 8
Hi there jgriff46,
Do you know if the images you're supposed to be receiving are in the body of the email, or if they are sent as attachments in the email message? If they are in the body of the email, most email clients by default actually block images being shown by default (there is a security reason for this).
Near the top of the email message you may actually see something along the lines of:
External images are not displayed. Display Image - Always display images sent from email@example.com?
If you click on "Display Image" or "Show Image", the image should load in the body of the email message. You should always see the option to "Always display images from firstname.lastname@example.org" and if you click on that, the images will always be displayed.
If the image you're expecting is sent in the form of an attachment, you will have to right click on the attached image and "save attachment as" in order to download and view it, or you can click on it and Windows Mail will give you a preview.
In regards to the folders in Windows 8, if you right click on your Inbox do you see any options to create a folder? Unfortunately I don't actually have a testing station nearby that has Windows 8 on it, or I'd get you some clearer instructions. Hopefully somebody using Windows 8 can chime in with some more specific instructions on that!
Hi jgriff46, are you able to view those pictures now with that setting from shaw-brayden?
If not, log into your email account first at webmail and see if the pictures show up there. If they do, next download them with your email program or app in Windows 8. It'll help us determine if the pictures are being stripped from the emails or are just hidden in the program or app.
