Picked up this unit on sale from local Electronic retailer to try it out as I was thinking this would be an upgrade from my 3416 model. Gotta admit, liked the new Guide look, more modern. Tho, in the end, took it back the next day and will stick with my 3416 for now till Shaw comes up with something better PVR wise or replaces their Gateway offerings which are way too much $$.
This 3510 unit missing two key features which were the deciding factors for me returning it:
1) Can't extend any recordings (to start early or end later) unless it's a "live" show.
2) Can't view Guide at all when watching a recording.
Is this something in the works to address these features (that the old 3416 has) or is there new hardware on the horizon? I know in reading the forums many others have brought up some of these issues but haven't seen it been addressed or added with recent Guide updates so still hesitant to purchase the unit again.
I guess I'll have to hold on to my 3416 till the above features are added.....
Anybody know a potential timeline?
