Can not receive or send email. Only can receive email from Shaw!!
Please help this is been going for the last few days, expecting very important email relating job commencement.
Can you tell me how you are accessing your email? Do you use a mail program such as Outlook, Windows Mail, etc. or Shaw Webmail (http://webmail.shaw.ca)? Are you seeing any error messages and, if so, can you provide this?
An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Shaw', Account: 'shawmail.ed.shawcable.net', Server: 'shawmail.ed.shawcable.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 Connection rejected due to poor reputation.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F
Try changing the outgoing port to 587 and turning SSL on. Instructions for Windows Live Mail (which should be similar to Windows Mail) are here: Email Client: Send/Receive Troubleshooting
Tried, does not work on either computers, 2 email accounts.
And it is Windows Mail & not Windows Live mail.
Try changing the outgoing settings: Mail Server Names
For home use:
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.shaw.ca
Let us know if that works or not.
No it does not work An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'test', Account: 'shawmail.ed.shawcable.net', Server: 'mail.shaw.ca', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 Connection rejected due to poor reputation.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F

Are you going to help me or do I have to change to Telus
Ah ok sorry. I may not have read the error message properly. The problem is that your IP has been blocked automatically by our servers for spam-like activity. You can visit: www.senderbase.org or http://www.spamhaus.org/ and type in your IP to check the reputation. The block should be lifted within 24 hours.
This is not to say that you are intentionally sending out spam from your email. There is a chance that one of your device/PC may have some malware doing it in the background. There is also a chance that your email password has been compromised. I would suggest to change the password on our customer care site for now: www.shaw.ca/occ. You can also run a full scan on your PC's
Hope that helps
Hey man you give instructions but sorry to say they are too vague, "Type IP address??? where on that site. Now I have changed all those prior instructions you gave me because you did not read properly!!, so now my Windows mail is all messed up. It's best you get your tech guys to give me a call to fix this.
The settings we provided above are still correct for the Windows mail program so, there would be no change after the ban is lifted.
In regards to the IP address, visit: www.senderbase.org and enter your IP address (from your modem not, router) into the search field:
Instructions on changing your password: How to Change or Recover Your Email Password
ok thanks I shall wait the 24 hr ban, have done the other things
