I have just changed my Blackberry passwords and all work with my email except the Shaw one. How can I leave my messages on the server if I do not use any other email clients?
I had this same problem. Shaw techies didn't even know how to help. Go to your webmail. Click on Preferences. Click on Mobile Devices. Type in your password (NOTE if it doesn't match Shaw's preferences you will need to go to your Shaw Account, and change your e-mail password). Click Save. (NOTE: You must see Preferences Changed at the top for it to work) Also, I have a BB Torch 9810. I have to use a pop server, but Shaw also changed the server to 110. BB defaults to 995. I got the same message as you did, so I don't think your pop server will be an issue. If it is and you can, click off the SST function if you have it. That should cure you, but if not, you should go into your Server Book and request an update.
Also - it can take up to 20 minutes for your e-mails to come through.
If none that works, you can forward your Shaw to a working e-mail until you go to your provider.
Forwarding is done in Preferences under RECEIVE. Fill in your alternate e-mail, pick your preferences and click save. Again you need that preferences saved message.
Best of luck, I spent a long time on this. Shaw's people tried to help but basically know nothing about BB any more.

If you only use your Shaw email on your Blackberry, then all the messages should still be left on the Webmail server. I don't believe there is a setting on the Blackberry to delete off of the server, but I may be wrong there. Either way, it would be in the server settings on your Blackberry for your Shaw email.
Are your emails not available on the webmail?
They are accessible though the Shaw webmail server but I also had it forwarded a copy to my Blackberry in the past. The message my blackberry is saying is that the messages must be left on the server for me to reactivate my Shaw from my Blackberry.
I've checked to be sure, but Andrew is correct in that there's no option to have email removed or saved on the server; they're left there by default by your Blackberry's client. Are you receiving any specific error messages? Have you tried removing and readding your account?
Thanks, You have been a great help. I was able to sync my Shaw Webmail. Now I just have to contact Blackberry and get rid of the rogers.blackberry domain that keeps plaguing me since it does not exist anymore. It should just be a matter of getting a new valid Blackberry ID since I gave my BB a security wipe it removed my BB ID but it still offers a "delivery to the following server has failed" message in my BB inboxes. I will have to call Blackberry to do that.
Glad you are up and running. I was pretty frustrated
I am not sure if you use the Blackberry Desktop. I do, but often forget to update my phone settings with it. It may help, as well. I didn't realize how many application updates I had missed, when I updated it, it did re-register my ID. I haven't had to learn so much about my phone until this past week. I still love my little torch, even though it is becoming obsolete way too quickly!
