MY friends and I wanted to set up some priority recording while we're gone for two weeks vacation. Approximately how many "of an hour shows" in HD does DCX3400 capable of? Thanks.
Hi. it depends on what size hard drive you have in it. The approximate HD recording hours for each hard drive are as follow: 160GB= 14-21 hrs
250GB= 20-30 hrs
These recording times depend on how much space is already being used by recordings you may have on your hard drive already. Hope this helps. For more specs this link will take you to the user guide for your DCX3400
The DCX4300 has a 500gig HDD, so about 50 hours in HD.
According to shaw.ca
300 hours Standard Definition
60 hours High Definition - which is fairly close to what I get
Adding Shaw's Expander, because you haven't mentioned if you have one or not, would add 120 hours, so around 180 in total.
To directly answer you question,
DCX3400 without an Expander, 60 one hour shows, with an expander 180 one hour shows
This was been answered by shaw-lance over twitter @shawhelp. Thanks.
