I was wondering if Shaw was planning to carry the fxx network.
There haven't been any announcements yet on whether we will bring in this channel but I have seen several requests for it. If you would like us to carry it, the best option is fill out the channel request form at Channel Request(s) Form 1.0.
I just sent a response to another post: Re: FXX channel
jodamack, lots of people seem to looking for the new show Fargo. This is available on FX Canada in both standard def and high def.
fx canada is only airing the first episode of that show
Thanks for the heads up, now I'm disappointed! Series deleted!
I went to the FxCanada web site and they show Fargo as showing Tuesdays (plural) at 10 PM ET. They also show last nights as S1 E1. I could not view the full schedule for next week so could not check.
I doubt it would be a 1 week only in Canada. Why would they do that?
because they want people who can get there new channel to check it out
You may be right. I did a search on the Guide of my GW system, next week they are showing The Bridge and it does not give the schedule for the week after. Also, the Search function only shows the Fargo movie. Seems dumb, why get people to check out a show, develop an audience and then stop offering it? Time will tell I guess. I watched the first episode and enjoyed it so I hope it returns.
This is a tactic that's been used before. In this case, they give you a 1-episode teaser on FX so people will put pressure on providers that don't carry FXX to add it.
ah. FXX and FX are different channels. I did not realize this but now understand.
Looks like Rogers is the only one who offers FXX so far. I know FXX is going to do a simpsons marathon of all episodes from start to finish non stop in the fall.... and I hope Shaw or their other competitor here in Winnipeg has it by then.
And the crazy thing is Fargo was produced in the fall of 2013 with filming taking place in and around Calgary, Alberta. And now we don't get to watch it. Come on Shaw ... and yes, I did fill in a Channel Request form.
Im with you we need action on fxx
I'm wondering if the issue is with Rogers... No other TV providers have FXX either...
When checking out FXX in Wikipedia, I found this:
Yes, I know it is a Rogers station, but when no other TV providers have it, makes you wonder if they are asking too much, or have other silly conditions that the other TV providers won't put up with (like TSN2 tried when they started)
Thank you Daver, great stuff
Let's please get this discussion back on topic for requests to add FXX Network to Shaw, if you would like to discuss something off-topic - you can also take the discussion offline by clicking the other members username and send them a "Friend" request and then you will be able to send them a "Direct Message".

No Fargo! I really liked the pilot and now can't get access to the series. Thanks for nothing Shaw.
Rogers control fxx and it looks like they are denying access to Shaw.
We hope Shaw is using their negotiating skills to get fxx.
Go get em Shaw!
FXX is owned by Rogers Media (FXX (Canada) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). I just checked the FXX website (FX Canada | Watch Full TV Episodes Online & See TV Schedule) as well, and online content is also limited to Rogers customers.
This is not to say that Shaw cannot get FXX in the future, but right now I am uncertain of the arrangement between FX in the States and Rogers.
