We have a HDPVR hooked up to our television in the living room. We just purchased a TV for the bedroom - but I cannot get any channels (says no signal) Do I need to purchase more equipment or how can I watch TV in the bedroom
Absolutely no channels, as an example, channel 5? Would indicate no signal to the TV, either the outlet in the room isn't active - when was the last time it was used? Or the TV hasn't been connected properly.
No signal is a message from the TV stating it is not seeing anything on its current input.
I'm assuming that you don't have digital box hooked up to it, which is fine if analog signals are still available in your area.
I suggest reading this article, mainly solution 2: https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-1027
You may find a solution there.
As previously mentioned there a couple causes of that no signal message
Depending on your area you may need a digital box to receive channels. In most cases this applies to channels not included in basic cable, but it may apply to all channels.
You also need a cable box to access features like EXO On Demand, the program guide, digital audio, etc.
