An email travel question:

I'm off for two months in Europe and need to ensure that my emails are not blocked. I'm using a SIMless ipadair (nor do I have a mobile device). I use gmail and outlook principally, and these will most likely be blocked thus making code recovery using one to the other a catch 22. So I decided to look into my dormant shaw mail and saw with excitement the claim that Shaw webmail can be used anywhere in the world. Two questions: 1. Can I REALLY access SHAW WEBMAIL anywhere without blocking?; 2. I've set up email on my ipad through Exchange; would setting it up with pop/smtp be better for traveling? I ask the latter because I note in the forums frequent issues with Exchange. Thanks for your time.
