Portal won't connect to gateway after being unplugged
What message do you see on your TV after reconnecting the portal?
And to bring it back down to the basics, have you checked that the coaxial cable from the portal to the wall outlet is in nice and secure? Sometimes when a portal is unplugged, it jostles the coaxial cable. A connection that was working at the outlet before now doesn't fit so well anymore. Unscrew it from the back of the portal and screw it back on. Then move to the wall outlet, unscrew it there and screw it back on.
Then turn the portal back on and see if there is a connection again.
