After experiencing some of the known issues related to this device, I have noticed that the standard unplugging/plugging in the power cable (REBOOTING) did not resolve these issues. However, uplugging the power cable to the device, and the COAXIAL Cable, then plugging the coaxial cable back in first, then the power cable second, the device started working properly again.
Issues that I was having:
-unable to access settings, menu, Shaw ON DEMAND and info buttons.
-clock kept reading 24hr mode after "reboot" sequence.
-Could not access recorded shows.
-improper viewing of GUIDE list.
-Message on screen after performing reboot indicated " unable to connect to SHAW server, loading OFFLINE settings." or something along that line.
So to clarify, if you are experiencing any of the above issues, unplug everything (especially the coaxial cable) and then plug the everything back in again, leaving the power cable for last.
Another thing to mention, make sure that the coaxial cable is not spliced off into several splitters. This will also interfere with the device. Especially, during the initial installation (activation). If you have to, connect the coaxial cable directly from the wall to the device, and then plug in the power cable.
