I know I have to bridge the Cisco router if I want to use my D-Link 835.  But before I ask to be bridged, does the Cisco need to be physically plugged into my computer for it to work?

Currently my PC is in another room away from where the cable is plugged into the Cisco and I have a Netgear plug in in the PC to make it wireless.  I need a stronger signal (to go outside) and I want to try the D-link.
