I've been getting 2.5-3 Mbit/s on Broadband 250 in Calgary NW during prime time as well. Prime time shouldn't be an excuse, it should be the basis for what ISP's offer since it's when most people are able to be online.
Hey there cortexian
I can definitely see where you're coming from there, and would like to take a look into this for you to be sure we've covered everything at this end. Please check your Community Inbox for a message from me.
"I've been getting 2.5-3 Mbit/s on Broadband 250"
wow, what is your speed in no peak time ? 200+
I have BB100 and my DL speed in 105MBps any day any time in nw Edmonton on wired LAN using the old Mororola docsis3 modem, on WiFi using Netgear 4500 dual band router 70+ on most of my laptops and 100+ on my sons MacBook Pro. If you running vista or win7 than please search google how to reset your TCP/IP setting and you will see significant speed improvement after rebooting your pc.
dbella the fastest I have seen is 185 Mbps or so. That is at like 3-4AM in the morning.
Luckily I get a solid 15+ Mbps upload or I would of switched to Telus already. Upload is important to me as I do a lot of video uploading to YouTube and live game streaming to twitch.tv.
I have some info on your situation. I'll PM you so as to keep this thread on-topic.
