We recently had go wifi installed within 150 ft of our house. I can get connected with my iPhone but my Mac shows I'm connected but the browser won't open. I registered my Mac at Shaw. Any ideas what to try?
Are you able to see the ShawOpen connection listed on your available wireless connections on your Mac? When you say your browser won't open, do you mean by this that your browser window opens (e.g., a Safari window) but displays a blank page or Could Not Display the Page message when you try to go to any site?
Yes I can see the connection and it displays "Safari can't find the server". Same for Firefox.
One other odd thing is that I have a Shaw web page using their webspace and I can open that on Go wifi but nothing else. Pretty weird.
Can we ask you to login to Online Customer Care and verify that your Mac is registered under Manage WiFi Devices?
If you see the Mac there, you may want to try removing and re-adding it.
I don't have the info to log into my account available.
If you have forgotten your MyShaw Customer Centre login information or never registered before, it's easy to register, please check out Customer Centre for more information.
Hi @beb, were you able to log into your Customer Care account as per the link provided by [shaw]jeff in the last post? Once logged in, it would be interesting to see if both of your devices have been added. If your Mac is listed there, try removing it and adding it again to see if that helps with the connection issue.
