Why is Pawn Stars on the History channel?
History channel has traditionally focused on historical documentaries so I see can see your point...although I suppose there is some connection between pawn shop antiques and history (as an aside, I can remember when MTV was for music videos only...).
History channel is owned by Shaw Media so if you have any additional feedback I'd be happy to pass it along to them. I'll send a direct message to your Community Inbox in case you want to provide further feedback which I will be able to forward on to Shaw Media.
If you've seen an episode, they tend to mix the fake "reality" pawn shop experience with a good mix of general knowledge and historical context to the items profiled on the show. Every now and again I'll have an I didn't know that moment, so it can be somewhat educational.
Maybe they ran out of content people wanted to watch about the past.
