Just curious, I heard something that consumers will be able just to pay for the channels they want.

Yeah, that was the plan at the beginning of the year announced by the gov't, but as far as I can tell, nobody is moving on making it happen, or moving as slowly as they can get away with
CRTC has not yet made a decision or directive to make changes. They are still in the public engagement stages.

Picking individual channels seems to be the preference of the public (Let's Talk TV: Choicebook - Analysis of CRTC Choicebook: Public) but most are skeptical of costs.
I really hope this comes soon - for my house, would be about 6-8 channels total - main networks + 3-4 extra.
