I have some email forwarded to my shaw.ca address from another domain. Is it possible to show that other address as the 'sent from' address rather than my shaw.ca address?
Hi there karens,
Just to clarify, you want to be able to forward or reply to those emails that are forwarded to your @shaw.ca account and have the email address that they were originally forwarded from show as the "sent from" field? That is something you can do, but you will need to be using an email client (Outlook, Mac Mail, Windows Live Mail, etc) in order to do so.
First off, you need to make sure you have both email addresses set up in your email client you are using, so your @shaw.ca one, and the email address the message was originally forwarded from. When you try to forward or reply the message, at the top of the compose window you should have the option to "show from field". If you enable this, you can then select the email address you want to show up in the "sent from" field, and that's how it will show up for the recipient.
Thanks Brayden. I am using Mac Mail OS X 10.8.5 and the email is a Godaddy autoforward so I don't think I can actually set that up in Mac Mail. Or can I??
You should be able to. I found some instructions on their help site that should allow you to set that up using POP.
