I understand this has been an issue for almost 2 years since windows 8 launched. Why has it not bee fixed when all other devices using exchange work properly?
Also applies to Windows 8 phones. Hopefully upgrades to Shaw email servers coming soon, fall 2013 updates were discussed, but then nothing further.
Just wanted to confirm what dabell said here, although it's been a long time coming we have been working with our Webmail software vendor (Zimbra) on a fix for these issues affecting Windows 8 Mail w/ Exchange configuration. You can be sure that the Moderator team will share any news on this we receive.
I have found a solution that works perfectly. Since the manufacturer of the email client is Zimbra they make a program called Zimbra desktop. It can be configured with the shaw email address. When choosing the email client setup just choose zimbra as the account type, account name (shaw email minus @shaw.ca) server wm.shaw.ca just like setting up any mobile device and it works just like an app on a phone / webmail for access to the exchange synced data.
