Just helped a friend connect to the new Arris modem installed yesterday....any reviews ? Better / worse than the Cisco ?
I know about the dual band / Guest account etc...was wondering about range / reliability ?
Hi there woomera,
Currently due to limited stock and the initial trial roll out, the Advanced WiFi modem (Arris) is only available to new Internet customers ordering High Speed 25 or higher. We also have a program going in only the City of Calgary right now where you can rent one for $10/month.
[shaw]ali - Moderators Note: The modem has not fully launched and is still under a trial phase to gauge customer response before going through a full potential roll out as a rental modem in all areas.
Here's a support article on the new Arris modem: Advanced WiFi modem guide - Arris SBG6782
It is our advanced WiFi modem with Dual Band support (2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz), so it does have better Wireless range and performance compared to the Cisco DPC3825.
Perhaps some Community members, who have the modem can chime in with their reviews.

Looking forward to hear how it's working out. We had trouble connecting using the provided password , but I enabled WPS and it connected to the printer straight away. My Galaxy Phone and Tab 2 would NOT connect using the password , but the owner's Galaxy Tab 3 did connect. We tried the printer using the password and it was rejected , but WPS and the printer worked first try ( and then WPS with my Galaxy phone was successful.. )
I have the Cisco and it's working ' OK " but the range is not great...is it possible to swap it for the Arris ?
