We rented a movie on shaw. And it's playing fine. But the picture is so small. Like half the screen. Why?!?
Are you seeing black borders just on the top and bottom of the picture (letterboxing), just on the sides, or on all corners?
TThere is a black box around the whole movie. Not like wide screen.
OK, this can sometimes be caused by your TV's picture-sizing Zoom feature, that may or may not be what is causing it in this case. When you watch regular TV this does not occur for you? Are you able to order something else on Shaw on Demand (one of the free titles) to see if it's like that with anything you try to play?
NNo it's not like that with anything else we order. Or watch on regular tv either. The movie we rented was enemy. Super disappointed.
Do you have an HDTV and do you know if you might have ordered the standard definition version instead of the HD version? Most movies (which are letterboxed) will display this way in 4:3 format (ie., with black borders on all sides). if ordered in standard definition on an HDTV and if the setting has not been made to stretch the picture. If the HD version is ordered it will display in the native HD format, which is 16x9, and will fit widescreen TVs automatically.
Hey mrskarip, have you checked to see if you did order the SD or HD version? If necessary, we can private message you and check for you.
