When I connect the Shaw coaxial cable to the back of my stereo receiver, I only get FM stations between 88.1 and 89.7 MHz. Why is this?

I hope this helps!
There are still a few channels you might be able to get, but I believe most of them have been discontinued.
it would be nice if we could get some radio stations right on the cable terminals like some other company's are doing and I doubt that the audio would use up much bandwidth
Audio definately doesn't use much bandwidth... Few channels could be fit in, in between the HD channels.
I really don't care for the Galaxie music, actual radio stations was good via FM.
i miss them too
The FM staitons band, the internet modems can use those channels for upstream, so my thinking was, they were removed, so the internet can use them for upload speed.
Four years later, and Shaw has now killed off the remaining FM stations for good as of today. See FM Discontinuation
Yet another reason to be glad I cancelled Shaw, as their service continues to be reduced.
