email pictures not being forwarded

Why can't I forward pictures in my email.  All that shows up is "unknown <image/jpeg>".  All that the Shaw Techs (I have talked to three of them) can come up with is send the pictures to my computer and forward them that way.  This is a recent issue and their suggestion is to cumbersome.  Does anyone lhave an idea what theproblem is?  Otherwise I will be forced to abandon Shaw email.
