When waking my computer from sleep browsing is impossibly slow

It looks like the dns requests from my desktop are being treated as DOS attacks and I get blocked for a short time for flooding.

I've since tried to just disable the flood protection check from the router to see if that will help(haven't tested it yet) but wanted to see if anyone else is having similar issues.

Also I'd rather not have flood protection off, why is it so sensitive?

 

Ps. I'm not doing any torrenting or anything like that just opening a single browser with about 7 tabs open. It doesnt matter what browser I open chrome, opera, IE all cause this to happen.
