HOW TO USE DCT700 CABLE BOX TO CONNECT TO MONITOR

I have an Motorola DCT700 digital cable box, and a nice HP 2207 monitor. I would like to use them to view only the basic channels of my FIOS cable service. A QAM tuner is required and I believe the DCT700contains one. A remote controls the DCT700. I realize it would display standard definition and unencrypted channels but that is fine for my intended use.

My question is how to connect them. The DCT700 only has a RF in and out, and a composite video out (plus two audio). The HP monitor only has analog VGA and digital DVI inputs.

1) Should this combination actual work, and 2) How do I match those connections? Are adapters available that allow the composite/audio to connect to the DVI?
