I am getting a lost HDCP connection from my HDbox? Anybody know what this is?
HDCP is a protocol used to offer copy-protection and other digital rights management capability over the HDMI interface. Usually the problem can be fixed by powering off your TV and cable box (and receiver if you're running HDMI through one), then powering them back on.
Sometimes you may need to re-seat the HDMI cable as well (just remove and reconnect at all points).
Let us know if that works for you.
This is why I am still holding out and not using HDMI...
If it continues, try a component connection (no HDCP)
Holding out for HDBase T Kevin? Looks like an awesome proposed standard.
@ scottreid, if you do have component cables (red/blue/green + red/white or optical for audio), this is definitely an alternate solution if the problem recurs. Swapping to another HDMI cable may also help or even unplugging the power to both the TV and PVR temporarily.
Holding out for anything without HDCP/DRM, has caused me more issues than it should, just trying to fix other's stuff
