I have Windows 8.1 on a Dell desktop.
I am unable to proceed or cancel the scan, even though I did a hard boot of my computer. The scan still appears at 34% and has for several hours.
What do I do?
It sounds like the MCAfee's gotten jammed up there. Your best bet is to uninstall the program and start fresh with a clean install.
