I upgraded my HD box for a PVR and starting having problems with my picture and sound. 5 or 6 times every half hour show the sound and picture would cut out completely, with no message or anything, for 3 to 5 seconds. I called Shaw and went through the trouble shooting process with no luck. They set up a in home inspection to see what the problem was. I took it upon myself to try and figure out the problem. After some research I found the problem was my grounding power bar was interfering with my HDMI cords. My power bar was sitting on the shelf next to my PVR and the HDMI cord was laying over the power bar and up to the TV. Because HDMI cords are all digital the grounding power bar was causing interference with the picture and sound. I moved the power bar away from the Box and cord and put it on the ground behind the TV and it fixed the problem immediately. Moral of the story: Make sure make sure your power bar is away from your HDMI cords and HD PRV box.
