How the Modem handles the wifi sucks so would like to switch to a better modem but I don't know how to do it?
Is there any resources (FAQ, HOW-TO) available? (probably as I am likely not the first to ask)
Thanks in advance
Has to be done in the billing system by a Shaw agent.
It will not work, unless you have 50 or above internet. 25 and below, the modem isn't able to be bridged.
But at that point, you can get your own router, and use whatever you want for networking.
We can assist you with bridging your modem so that you may use your own router, we'll send you a Direct Message requesting your account info.
Please respond to it.
Hi Ali, can you send me the instructions too. Thanks, Howard
I'll send you a direct message requesting your account information - we can bridge your modem but we need to do it from our side.
Hi Ali, I'd like to get my modem bridged as well. thanks Mel
I'll send you a direct message so that we can process this request for you.
I have an Apple Time Capsule that I would like to use instead, and bridge my router....can you send me instructions too,,,Thanks
If you want to bridge your modem, it has to be done by a Shaw rep, Shaw doesn't like it if you bridge it yourself.
Hopefully a shaw-moderator can help you out.
Hi fchiappetta - I'll send you a message and we can help with bridging your Shaw Docsis 3 Wifi Modem. Please check the Inbox at the top of this page ^
how about adding an extender to the wireless to amplify the signal.
As long as you are using the 3rd party router, it shouldn't be an issue. Using the Extenders with the Cisco in router mode doesn't work.
