It just stopped working last evening, webmail works fine, but since it's still down just wondering...
BTW I'm in Calgary
If you can log into your Shaw Webmail, it's a good sign as it means your email address is up and running.
But if you're not able to log into your email program or app, it might be that a setting was changed, possibly during a recent update to that program or app. We have an extensive list of programs and apps at Email Setup Instructions that should be of use to you.
If you're still having issues after checking your settings against the ones recommended at that page, let us know what errors you are seeing.
I get the following error, before and after using your setup instructions for Outlook 2013. This started around midnight last night. The email had been working fine all evening and NO changes were made to my computer before it stopped working. Webmail works fine and the internet works fine, just outlook email fails. I have 4 accounts and they all fail.
Thanks for posting the error Norm. So Outlook 2013 is not able to communicate with our POP or SMTP servers at all.
You mentioned you have 4 email accounts... are they all @shaw.ca accounts? Would you be able to list your incoming and outgoing server settings for your main @shaw.ca address? For example:
SSL/Encryption: On (TLS)
Also, do you happen to have any antivirus software or firewall software installed?
Hi Matt, I did reply a long time ago, but just now found that it didn't get here. Here's what you missed.
I tried 587/TLS and it failed, as follows.

I started changing my first account without any luck. I then power cycled the modem router and PC. When I opened outlook it kept asking for my password even though I had checked remember me. I then tried my second account and it and the rest worked, so I copied what I had in the second account and updated the first account, VOILA – it started working. My settings are different from yours below. The incoming is the same but the outgoing uses Port 25 and no encryption. I will try to use 587/TLS and let you know.
