I am frustrated with pop up ads from ad sense and others ....What do I do ?
Use a popup blocker?
I use the Adblock Plus, and NoScript Add-ons in Firefox
What browser do you use?
Oh, and just an advanced warning if you use Firefox and the NoScript add-on. It can be kind of annoying, as once installed, you'll find the sites you visit will need to be added to NoScripts "allowed" list. It takes time to set up all your frequently visited sites to work with NoScript but again, I still recommend it!
I'll allow just what needs to be allowed for the sight to work as intended. Leaving sometimes 2+ other scripts blocked, which have no effect on the forums/sites functionality. It just prevents all the scripted crap most of us couldn't give to squires to see from working.
It should put an icon on the top of your browser to simplify the above. You can disable all or just some from there. You can also temporarily allow all scripts if you don't want to play the guessing game as to which scripted evens are the ones you need. Most sites should not need more than 3, maybe 4 allowed to get full functionality back.
Are these the ads embedded in the page that become fullsize when you move your mouse over them? Or the ones that automatically open up in a new window when you open a page?
The latter ones are irritating. In Chrome, you can block them in the settings as per Manage pop-ups - Chrome Help. Otherwise, let us know which browser you use and we can find the settings for you.
Ah yes, Firefox has this option as well. (But I still recommend the above add-ons!)
If you use Firefox, it can be found here: Tools>Options>Content>(tick) Block pop-up Windows
I use an ad blocker program on my computer at home too. A Google search should bring up some more suggestions but gamerguy is leading us on the right path.
