So I bought a 3400R from Visions, refurbished. But in the box was a 3400M, what is the difference. Or was there a packaging mistake?
I have to admit that I'm not aware of a difference between the 3400R versus 3400M. I've asked around the office, checked the documentation, and have come up empty on any difference.
It's likely that the 3400M was made when Motorola was still an independent company. It is now owned by Arris who have been rebranding their equipment. For example, the DCX3510 used to have a Motorola label on the front display, now it says Arris.
I would plug it in and have it activated, and make sure that it works and that you're getting the right channels. I don't think there's a reason to exchange it unless they promised you a new never-used-before unit and you received the refurbished one in error.
