Can you setup a digital TV tuner?

So I have a Motorola digital TV box that I own (i.e: it's not on lease from Shaw) and today I had a look at its back. There I saw a plate that said "M-Card DEVICE ONLY" Of course curiosity got the best of me and I opened it. Inside there was a card that looked exactly like this: http://hdtvsales.ca/images/P/mcard-1024.jpg

I Googled and searched and I learned that this is called a cable card, and its function is deciphering the incoming signal. I also found that these can be used with a special TV tuner, that can be plugged into your PC. Something like this: Ceton InfiniTV 6 PCIe - PCI Express CableCARD Tuner

My question is, does Shaw support this? If I take the card out of my digital box, plug it into one of these tuners and into a PC, will it work? Using Windows Media Center, will I get the same thing that I get with my Motorola digital TV box? Or does Shaw lock these cards with TV boxes they come with?
