I also use shaw so that's not an issue, I just need to know how to activate it.
As long as he has had it removed from his account you should have no issues activating it.
If he has yet to do so, a quick call to Shaw to do so would be all it takes. (Or if he has an account here it can be done here as well.)
As gamerguy mentioned here, the first step would be to have your dad contact us to let us know that he will be transferring his PVR to you. If you think that's already been taken care of, let us know here and we can help get it activated for you.
