Slow Internet

I am posting in the event that others are having the same problem.

 

For about the last two months I have experienced a very slow start up with any of my browsers. I would frequently get a message that the browser was not responding.

 

I followed all the advice on malware, viruses etc. but nothing helped.

 

The other day I happened to open  task manager and noticed that a very high cpu and memory usage. As I scrolled through task manager I discovered that  all of my McAfee programs (Shaw Secure) were using very high levels of resources, constantly.

 

So I uninstalled All of the McAfee products and reinstalled them and all of my problems disappeared.

 

Just another option to look at when having internet problems.
