why is it saying "limited" when i am trying to connect to the internet i have tried everything and nothing is working
Have you tried powercycling your modem and router (unplugging the power for 30 seconds)? You can also try having your device "forget" your wifi network, then reconnecting to it.
I assume when you open your Web Browser, you can't access any web pages as well??
The "Limited connectivity" message in Windows Vista or newer OS indicated that Windows cannot reach a Microsoft IP on the Web, and therefore you do not have working internet access. Sometimes this message can appear falsely when that Microsoft IP does not respond.
Otherwise, if you cannot load any web pages, I would say to power cycle your modem and router (if you have one) and restart your PC. If it still does not work, check the lights on your modem, and give Shaw support a call.
