I have a number of obsolete email addresses in the auto complete file (wherever that is). Addresses do NOT appear in emailed contacts list. How can I remove these old addresses from webmail.shaw.ca auto complete?
Webmail pulls email address information for autocomplete automatically from emails contained within the various Webmail folders in your account. For example, you might have some old emails in your Sent folder to those addresses, and it would be getting that information for autocomplete from there. To prevent that you would need to locate and delete those emails.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your quick response, but I've seen that online already and have gone through ALL my folders. There a still a number of addresses in the autocomplete list that I would really like to delete. Where the heck is that list found and how can I delete excess names or reset the whole list?
I can't see an option to clear the list unfortunately. If you check your Preferences in webmail, then go to "Address Book", there's option in there to turn off Autocomplete, give that a try and see if that changes anything.
I might have the answer for you! In the top blue bar/area section on your mail page look to the right side. There should be four icons, one of which should be 'contacts'. Click on that then go into 'emailed contacts'. From there you should be able to delete!
