Playback on PVR: stops and won't allow to proceed

Have had services for 10 months and just started having problems in recently.  Has happened almost exclusively on recordings of NHL Center Ice.

Could be 1 minute into recording or 120 minutes into recording.  It shows there is 3 hrs of program recorded, but will stop at some point and say the recoding is finished.  Tech has swapped boxes..no luck.  Tried a reset..no luck.  Swapped coax..no luck.

 

INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.
