I have an older style Motorola DCT3416 dual tuner DVR,.
in the back there is an Ethernet port. But when I plug the TV into this I can not get an internet connection on the TV.
Does this port work for internet connections?
The ethernet port on the back of our digital boxes isn't operational. It was added for "future functionality" but it wasn't one that we ever activated in the firmware.
At this time, the separate modem is the only device through which we stream internet.
Interesting fact - the USB port also hasn't been activated in the firmware but you can still use it to recharge any of your devices such as phones or tablets.
Thanks for the quick reply Lance. Does the same apply to the Ethernet port on the newer ARRIS HDPVR's?
The ethernet and USB are dead on all of our digital boxes at this time, including Arris's latest HDPVR, the DCX3510.
