we have 1 Shaw account but would like to have two seperate email accounts - 1 for each person in the house with different addresses. How do we set it up?
As it is currently set up on the main shaw site, - we have 2 email accounts BUT, all e-mails comes to one account and all outgoing mail is only sent from 1 address. We want to completely seperate accounts. How do we seperate these two accounts?
Then you haven't configured your email reader properly. What software are you using? Outlook/Outlook Express, Thunderbird etc.
As an alternative, you could also use Shaw Webmail
Yes, if we access through webmail, we get our two seperate accounts and can send/ receive within our own accounts - but webmail has its limitations.
We are using Window's Mail (2?). We have experimented with different configurations but none totally solve the problem. We noticed that whose's name is assigned as the "default" , is the account that the emails are sent from. If we want to send an email from the other person, we have to change the default first. Make any sense?
Not familiar with Windows Mail, but in most other readers there are options to setup filters. With filters you should be able to setup a rule that sends emails addressed to either of your email addresses to different inbox subdirectories.
Organize e-mail using rules and folders
