My PVR is 6 yrs old. I may buy a Gateway system and give away or sell the pvr. Is there something I should do to deactivate the pvr or to disconnect it from my account?
That is a good question, one that I too have considered asking.
Mine (x2) are not Shaw boxes, they are stand alone LG HDD/DVD recorders (analog) both have 80GB HDD's and of course since the purchase of the Gateway, and the phasing out of the analog sources, I wonder what do so with them.
Does anyone have any idea what these boxes could be used for?
I was thinking perhaps getting a modulator (any channel would do) and setting up a CCTV recorder, or something like that.
But I'm open to suggestions..any other ideas?
Is there something I should do to deactivate the pvr or to disconnect it from my account?
If you plan to sell it, you need to have it removed from your account before anyone else can use it.
I had to do that with my Pace box when I gave it to my friends to use.
that is correct or what you need done is to let us know that you are selling or giving it away, with the person's name just for your protection and so we know that someone has not stolen the cable box from you
